Robin Robertson swithers........

Poetry is still seen as something that has little to do with the real world and only enjoyed by a few oddballs and pretentious members of the 'literary crowd'. Kill the messenger and go pick up a book from the library and keep it with you on your next trip. Dip in, read one each day and enjoy the distillation of atmosphere and emotion in words. When it connects there’s nothing more beautiful and richly rewarding. The work of Scottish poet Robin Robertson connects us back into a world where Nature is around and within us; and love lies broken, twisted, mended, and supreme. He's a great writer, has something to say and does it with elegance and experience. Swithering is an ever-shifting hymn to the world that we can touch and again the world we can't. His words are sharp, cutting, elastic and invisible: He understands the difference between sentiment and sentimentality and he reaches high with his ambitious series of moments and memories. If you have not felt the need to read and engage with poetry, try again, try this, you wont be disappointed.
